X ray film consumables and x-ray chemicals from REGE IMAGING & CINE FILMS (P) LTD.

With the advancement of medical science and technology supporting its development, we are getting numerous advantages among which X-Ray applications for diagnosing diseases is one of the remarkable achievements humanity has ever witnessed. But, besides its application in medical sphere X-Ray has its utilities in many other fields like the application of X-Ray residual stress measurement in industrial R&D, gauging systems for metals, application analyzing molecular structure and so on. Whatever the use be, for every application done with X-Ray a thorough supply of X-Ray consumables namely x ray film consumables and x-ray chemicals are necessary. There are different types and categories of X-ray films and X-Ray processing chemicals used for different applications.

Now, when we come to x ray film consumables there is a long list of X-Ray films available that are used for different signal-to-noise ratio, for varied speed of response to radiation and for various graininess. It is most apt to classify X-Ray films by the relation of their signal-to-noise ratios. In selecting a particular film, a tradeoff must be made between resolution and speed of exposure, for example class1 X-Ray films have the highest signal-to-noise ratio, which are considered as high detail resolution films those are used for most sensitive radiographic applications. Class2 X-Ray films are also nearly close to the Class1 films in respect of quality. Class3 films have a moderate signal-to-noise ratio, and class4 X-Ray films are considered to have low signal-to-noise ratio. However, the classification may vary when it is classified in terms of speed.

X-Ray films those are used in general radiography are made with a mixture of gelatin containing silver halide that is sensitive to radiation, and crystal such as silver bromide or silver chloride, and a transparent flexible base having a blue tint. The emulsion is different from those used in other types of photography films, so certain distinct features must be taken into account as per the unique traits of gamma rays and X-rays.  Generally, the mixture is coated on both sides of base with layers those are about 0.0005 inch thick.

The selection of x ray film consumables are critical for varied radiographic technique. Composition, shape and size of an object can be examined, and in some case its weight and location can also be detected with the help of these. The next factor is the type of radiation used, whether X-Rays from an X-ray generator or gamma rays from a radioactive source. The selection varies also with the voltages available with the X-Ray equipment, or the intensity of gamma radiation. Relative importance of high radiographic detail and economical factors also determine the selection.

Coming to the variety of x-ray chemicals we see the series of items like X-Ray developer that is used for production of film developer solution and bleach fix solution, variety of X-Ray fixers which act like a chemical covering that helps to decrease fumes to a great extent by reducing the pressure of vapor without interfering with the drying capacity or even sulfite levels, hydroquinone – used as the developing agent in photography, phenidone that is known as an agent of photographic development. So, x-ray consumables are the most integrating part of any x-ray application and without their availability and proper quality x-ray applications cannot ensure their perfection.
