The Powerful Machine Tool, Metal Cutting Bandsaw Machine

Metal cutting bandsaw machine can be defined as a powerful tool which comprises of a blade having band of metallic teeth along the edge and it is mainly used for cutting various work pieces at the same time. The band which is used in this regard is generally placed on two wheels which rotate on the same plane. In some cases, bandsaw uses three or even four wheels for rotating purposes which helps in uniform cutting services.

Due to the even metallic teeth, the uniformity of the products are well maintained and the main uses of this product can be seen in metal working, wood working and for cutting different types of metallic sheets. These are also used for cutting various curved or irregular shapes as well or also for producing straight lines. The minimum radius of a single curve in mainly determined by the band’s width and also on its kerf.

A little history related with Bandsaw Machine:

The main ideal of this tool can be first seen in the year 1809 and this idea was received by a British namely William Newberry. During that time, the idea remained impractical because of the sizes of the blades. Due to the constant flexibility of the blade on the band saw wheels, always hamper the welded joint of the blade or the material. Thus, the idea was quite a flop at that point of time. Then, after 40 long years, a Frenchwoman namely Anne Paulin Crepin invented a new technique which helped in welding a typical band saw blade in such a way, so that it can easily withstand the rigors of bending and sawing around the wheels of band saw.

After thorough research, she finally put this theory in action in the year 1846 and soon after, the notable manufacturing company namely A. Perin & Company purchased her rights to give life to her innovative thoughts. They combined the welding method of Crepin along with certain new steel alloys and some latest tempering techniques as well. Thus, Perin first created the modern version of Metal cutting bandsaw machine and this first ever patent was granted to Benjamin Barke in the year 1836 in January.  According to the new source, the first ever factory which produced modern version of band saw was those manufactured by Paul Prybil and were mainly used for cutting wood.

Different types of Bandsaw Machine products available in the market:

* Meat cutting: These are used for cutting meats and are generally manufactured using stainless steel as the primary raw material. These are easy to use and easy to clean as well. The blades comprises of fine teeth along with heat treated points.

* Timber cutting: These are generally quite large in size and are preferred more over circular saws. These can easily accommodate timber with large diameters.

* Metal cutting: This is the best ever example of Metal cutting bandsaw machine and is available in both horizontal and vertical designs. The speed of this machine is from 40 feet per minute to 5000 feet. These are mainly used in machine shops for manufacturing purposes.

This becomes even more clear where abrasive is added to the jet stream, and fortunately, thanks to stainless steel balustrade colleagues in Germany, we have thermal images of this, which I will share, next time.
