Ultrafiltration Plants Manufacturer In Ahmedabad
The process of membrane filtration in
which from the semi permeable membrane the liquid is forced by the
hydrostatic pressure is known as ultrafiltration and this process is
utilized by the Ultrafiltration Plants. Suspended solutes and
solids of high molecular weight are held while the weight solutes
with low molecular weight and water pass through the membrane. This
process of separation is utilized in research and industries for
concentrating and purifying macromolecular solutions, mainly the
protein solutions. The process of ultrafiltration is basically not
different from gas separation, nanofiltration or microfiltration
except in case of the molecule size that is retained. Ultrafiltration
is applied in dead end or in cross flow mode and in ultrafiltration
the separation goes through concentration polarization.
Ultrafiltration Plants remove
the requirement for multimedia filters and clarifiers for waste
streams for fulfilling the criteria of critical discharge or for
water recovery systems to process further. Membranes are utilized by
efficient ultrafiltration systems that can be back flush able,
submerged, spiral wound, air scoured MF or UF membrane which provides
superior performance for processing water and clarification of water.
There are various types of membrane
geometries which include spiral wound module, hollow fiber membrane
and tubular membrane. Spiral wound module comprises of membrane with
large consecutive layers which assists the substance in rolling up
about the tube. These membranes maximize the surface area, are more
sensitive to pollution and are less expensive. In tubular membranes,
through the membrane core the feed solution flows and the tubular
housing is used for collecting the permeable. These membranes are
utilized for bad quality or viscous fluids. These membranes do not
have a very compact system and for installation it incurs higher cost
per unit area. The hollow fiber membrane consists of various small
fibers or tubes which have 0.6 to 2 mm diameter. In these membranes,
via the open cores of the fibers the feed solution flows and the
surrounding the fibers there is the cartridge area which is used for
collecting the permeable. The filtration technique in these systems
can take place either outside in or inside out.
The ultrafiltration systems are
available in different module configurations which include immersed
system and pressure vessel configuration or pressurized system. In
pressurized system, a pump is used for generating the transmembrane
pressure or TMP in the feed while at atmospheric pressure stays the
permeable. Generally the pressure vessels are standardized, which
permits the membrane system to function independently depending upon
the features of the specific membrane elements.
In immersed systems, in basins the
membranes are suspended which consists of the feed and are open to
the atmosphere. The pressure provide by the feed column is minimum on
the in fluent side. A pump is used for generating TMP and on the
permeate side it develops a suction. Like other filtration processes,
ultrafiltration can also be carried on as a batch or continuous
process.
The ultrafiltration process has a wide
range of applications. Some of these include disinfection of drinking
water, industrial wastewater treatment, water purification in
laboratory grade, fractionation of proteins etc.
All types of plants used for
ultrafiltration are available online. Persons or organizations
interested can browse the internet to avail these plants.
